Autumn 2019 CSP Networking Forum Event

The third CSP Networking Forum welcomed 33 attendees to the Beechdown Conference Centre in Basingstoke in November 2019. The Flyer and the Programme offered a mix of speakers and facilitated workshops, with plenty of time for networking with the other attendees over lunch.

We were joined by representatives from local and national charities, local support and self-help groups, West Hampshire CCG, Wessex Cancer Alliance and a number of healthcare professionals from HHFT.

We listened to updates with slides from the Lead Cancer Nurse and the Chemotherapy Matron from HHFT, the Chair of Cancer Services Partnership, Wessex Cancer Alliance and Wessex Voices, which included an update on the use of Rapid Diagnostic Centres, and Macmillan Cancer Support, on various topics including patient centred personalised care, which we had featured at our previous CSP Forum.

After lunch, facilitated workshops allowed our attendees to participate in structured debates. An HHFT Dietitian spoke of the need to improve mouth hygiene and nutrition for cancer patients in hospital, which sought help to improve patients’ recovery by improving patients’ mouth hygiene.

Attendees contributed their views and ideas on the current challenges facing cancer patients and cancer service providers with Wessex Voices and Wessex Cancer Alliance, giving feedback on their Patient and Public Experience Literature Review.
